Students will expand on their experience from the Getting Started Activities. Combine TETRIX PRIME and EV3 to build a sorting robot with an articulated arm and gripper that can rotate 360 degrees. Then they can advance to program it to move the gripper to a known position to pick up and grasp an object and, ultimately, complete a program that performs a sorting action to a different location, based on information obtained from a color sensor. With TETRIX PRIME and EV3 components, students will build a unique stationary robot that acts as a security door with a two-phase access procedure. The objective is to complete a program that will wait for access to be demanded through the interaction or sensors and then to wait and respond based on sensor data by activating one or both phases of the procedure. Baseball works its way into the curriculum with the Launcher Build. TETRIX PRIME and EV3 are combined to build a dynamic baseball player-type robot that can adjust its angle of elevation, orientation, and location.
